Volunteer Vacations – Make A Difference While Traveling
Filed under Topics, What's NEW This Month
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend your time doing volunteer vacations?

If so, then you're in luck, because this month our featured interview is with Stuart Macpherson with Global Visions International, one of the largest and most well-respected volunteer vacations companies. They have over 150 projects available spanning across more than 40 countries. Stu does an incredible job laying out an objective and honest look (and incredibly contagious!!) at what it's like to do volunteer vacations.

So why cover Volunteer Vacations in a MoneyForTraveling.com interview? It's simple, really: As amazing as it is to make money while traveling, at one point, a traveler's focus will shift. Traveling typically begins with selfish sightseeing. Next, a person will feel a desire to be connected with communities and people, Finally, a traveler becomes a volunteer and will begin giving back and making a difference.
Some people make the metamorphosis quickly and some never make it at all. For followers of the MoneyForTraveling.com income systems, however, this is the ultimate 'end result' in our opinion. There's no better use of your travel dollars than by giving back and helping to improve the places that make a location so desirable to visit in the first place! This is where life and travels become overwhelmingly fulfilling.
This is why I had to pin down Stuart and have him explain everything that goes into doing a volunteer vacation!
Before I share the interview, let me be clear: there are adventures out there that will appeal to everyone. All ages, backgrounds, and skill levels can volunteer in some capacity. Not only that, but there are volunteer vacations and opportunities on 6 continents. Timeframes range from 1 week to 2+ years. Some of the subject areas are environmental research, education, conservation, teaching, community development.
So what do volunteer vacations look like? Try some of these trips on for size:
- Tracking animal patterns to collect data that is essential in maintaining the animal's natural environment and heritage.
- Coral reef health monitoring in the Seycheles
- Teaching indigenous communities in South America
- Elephant conservation in Southeast Asia
- Giant Tortoise and endemic species conservation in the Indian Ocean.
- Types of positions and opportunities where a long-term impact can be made.
- Teaching English in China, working in orphanages in Africa, and community education in Nepal.
- Construction projects in the Ecuadorian Andes.
- Too many more to list… so let's get to the interview!

The SECRET to not spending a penny while traveling…
Filed under Topics, What's NEW This Month
One of the hardest parts about knowing what to do with your life is really getting a real understanding of the possibilities out there.
What I mean is most of the time we are stuck in a rut of our own reality and we make decisions about what to do with our lives from that reality that we're in.
What I am saying is that most people do the same work their parents did or friends or family members are doing. We don't get the perspective and most importantly the understanding of the REAL possibilities out there.
Now you're probably thinking…
"Thanks Tyson for the depressing comment for the day, I really needed to hear that I am stuck in a rut…. "
Fair enough if that is running through your mind, and not everything you hear in the world you're going to like… but it's doesn't mean it's not good for you. My point here is to help you detach and really try to look out side your box. That's what's these interviews are about and I hope that when one clicks you go for it and make some NEW shifts in your life.
With that said, I have a special interview for you on an interesting topic that we all know about but maybe don't understand how awesome and possible it is.
This interview is with a good friend Taylor and it has to do with trip leading. This is where you take a group of teens or adults and travel with them in some parts of the world.
For instance, this could be doing a week long surf camp, a three week adventure tour in Peru, a sightseeing tour all over Italy and Europe.
Now there are a ton of pro's and there are some con's to this type of work but for right now I want to point out two incredible positives.
#1 – You can quickly get out and be traveling with out spending a penny… and make money from it to.
#2 – You have more crazy experiences then you can imagine and you grow and end off excited about life because you helped people grow and learn.
I don't want to go into to much here because we cover it all in the interview. I would highly suggest to listen to the entire interview and let your mind expand in to the amazing possibilities out there.
Here’s what your going to discover in this interview…
3 Key Tips you must follow when trying to land a travel guide job.
Listen in on some of Taylor's incredible stories from his travel jobs and some great insights about this interesting industry.
Step-By-Step system to becoming a trip leader.
A simple but powerful way to put yourself above everyone else trying to get hired. (this is a timeless tip for getting hired in any job.)
The type of personal growth you are going to have being a trip leader.
What every person wants when traveling and how this job gives you the most of it.
How to not spend a penny while traveling and make some money along the way
Incredible stories to make you laugh and understand how amazing life can be.
This is one type of work that can really change your life in a positive way.
Enjoy the interview,
Tyson Hale
